Karen Hawk, PsyD - Clinical Psychologist from Gilbert, AZ

Dr. Karen Hawk, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Resilience Counseling and Assessment, LLC in Gilbert, Arizona. Since 2010, she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families to heal from trauma and emotional distress through evidence-based psychotherapy.

Dr. Hawk specializes in helping clients recover from childhood abuse, partner abuse, narcissistic relationships, infidelity, betrayal trauma, institutional trauma, and sibling conflict. She also provides premarital counseling, co-parenting therapy, post-divorce adjustment support, and treatment for postpartum depression, infertility, and miscarriage-related grief.

Born to refugee parents and raised in Europe, Dr. Hawk personally experienced the challenges of cultural transition—an experience that shaped her compassionate, globally informed perspective. She is passionate about supporting immigrants, multicultural families, and individuals navigating diversity and acculturation challenges.

Dr. Hawk works with clients from a wide range of cultural, religious, and LGBTQ+ backgrounds, integrating a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s needs. Her clinical methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic, interpersonal, family systems, and trauma-focused interventions.

An active member of the Arizona Psychological Association, Dr. Hawk earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Minot State University, her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Argosy University–Phoenix, and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.

Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Hawk enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her interests include cycling, weight training, competitive table tennis, yoga, meditation, cooking healthy meals, walking her dogs, and lifelong learning—especially in nutrition and health.
